Charis Dance Company
Valley Christian's Dance Team exists to be a dance ministry team that is relevant to our generation. We teach at
outreach programs and perform at school functions, community events, and dance conventions. Our mission is to equip
students with spiritual, artistic, academic, and technical excellence in dance; reclaiming the arts for Christ at the
community, university, and professional levels, thus bringing influence to the world.
Nu Delta Alpha
Nu Delta Alpha, a national dance honor society designed for students, dance educators, and professionals, serves the
community by recognizing the need to share and educate about dance. Chapters are designated for middle through high
school, college through professional levels, private studios, and preparatory and home schools. Applications for new
members are due by
October 1st.

Dance Arts Director's bio
The director of the Dance Arts program, Autumn Mortenson, began her dance training at age three. She has been trained in
Ballet (Russian, Cecchetti, and Royal Academy methods), Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Modern. She has worked professionally as
a dancer and as a choreographer here in the U.S., but has also traveled to ten nations to share the good news about Jesus
through dance, theater, and service. Autumn graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.A. in Theater and Dance, Dance
Emphasis, in 1997. She has been teaching dance for more than sixteen years in the U.S. and abroad. Autumn came to Valley
in 2001 and began directing the dance program in 2004. She hopes to see a new generation rise up to love Jesus, love dance,
and to reach their full potential in all of their God given talents.
